Interaction between Alcohol and Acort

No, Acort is a topical corticosteroid so it should not be used on the face. Harmful skin effects can occur by applying Acort on a face like periorificial dermatitis (rash around the mouth), atrophy(degeneration of cells), and telangiectasia (tiny blood vessels causing thread-like pattern on the skin). The more potent a steroid, the more serious these adverse reactions.
High potency Acort oral dosage forms are used for the treatment of aphthous stomatitis (presence of round or oval painful ulcers on the oral mucosal membrane). It is also used for the treatment of gingival (related to gum inflammation) disorders like oral lichen planus (painful patches inside the mouth) and desquamative gingivitis (erythematous, blistering, and eroding gingival tissue). Acort dental paste is used for the management of non-herpetic oral inflammatory and ulcerative lesions.
Acort is available in multiple dosage forms like topical cream, ointment, lotion, injectibles, nasal inhalation aerosol, and oral paste. You should take it exactly as per the recommendations of your doctor. Do not use it for the ailments not prescribed by your doctor.
No, Acort cannot be used for the treatment of cold sores. There is a dearth of good literature on Acort's efficacy for cold sores. Cold sores appear as blisters around the mouth. These are usually caused by Herpes simplex virus. These can be managed by using a lemon balm, over-the-counter anti-viral medications, ice, aloe vera, sunscreen, etc. You should follow your doctor's advice completely.
