Phenytal

Phenytal is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Tablet. Epilepsy, Seizures are some of its major therapeutic uses. Other than this, Phenytal has some other therapeutic uses, which have been discussed ahead.

The right dosage of Phenytal depends on the age, gender, and medical history of the patient. Besides the medical condition it is advised for, the route of administration also plays an important role in determining the correct drug dosage. The most common side effects of Phenytal are Vertigo, Double Vision. While these are the most often observed Phenytal side effects, there are can be others also. These have been listed below. These side effects of Phenytal are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. However, if these continue for a longer time, consult your doctor right away.

Furthermore, you should know that effect of Phenytal is Severe for pregnant women and Moderate for women who are breastfeeding. In addition, Phenytal's effects on the liver, heart and kidney are discussed below in the Phenytal related warnings section.

Phenytal is not recommended if you suffer from certain medical conditions as it can have adverse effects. Bradycardia (Slow Heart Rate), Respiratory Depression, Liver Disease are examples of such conditions. The section on Phenytal contraindications lists all such conditions.
