No Midosed alone does not help with pain but it is given along with pain-killer drugs such as fetanyl to help with pain during the medical procedure. Midosed induces conscious sedation which allows the patient to undergo a medical procedure by inducing decreased levels of consciousness that does not require intubation.

Does Midosed cause hiccups?

Yes, Midosed may cause hiccups. It is a rare side effect of this drug. However, the exact cause behind hiccups is not known but it is presumed that it occurs because Midosed stimulates the involuntary diaphragm contractions or by influencing the supraspinal hiccup center present in the brainstem.
