Busfan

Busfan is an alkylating agent used as part of preparative regimens before hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). It is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and other hematological malignancies. By suppressing bone marrow activity, Busfan creates an optimal environment for successful stem cell engraftment. Busfan injection plays a crucial role in conditioning regimens for stem cell transplantation, offering a foundation for successful treatment in hematological malignancies. Indications

1. Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT):
   • As part of a conditioning regimen in combination with cyclophosphamide or fludarabine for patients undergoing allogeneic or autologous HSCT.
2. Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML):
   • In cases where other treatments are not suitable.

Busfan exerts its effects by cross-linking DNA strands, leading to the inhibition of DNA replication and RNA transcription. This results in the destruction of rapidly dividing cells, including hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow, facilitating the engraftment of transplanted stem cells.
