Alsatinib 50mg Tablet Information

Alsatinib (Dasatinib) is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor used primarily for the treatment of certain types of leukemia. It is effective in targeting specific proteins that contribute to the growth of cancer cells, particularly in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) with the Philadelphia chromosome mutation.

Uses

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML):

  • Effective in newly diagnosed patients as well as those resistant or intolerant to prior therapies like Imatinib.

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL):

  • Used in patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) ALL.

Dasatinib inhibits multiple tyrosine kinases, including BCR-ABL, which is an abnormal protein produced by the Philadelphia chromosome mutation. This inhibition blocks the proliferation of cancer cells.
