Moximac contains moxifloxacin (a broad-spectrum antibiotic that belongs to the class of drugs known as fluoroquinolones). It works by inhibiting enzymes (topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase) in bacteria which prevents the DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination that is essential for the survival of the susceptible organism.
