Does La Mika cover pseudomonas?

Yes, La Mika is effective against bacteria (Pseudomonas). But it is also found that Pseudomonas can get resistant to this drug and in that case La Mika will not produce desired results. If you are experiencing no symptomatic relief after taking this medicine then inform your doctor and follow his/her instructions.

Can I take La Mika with penicillin?

No, La Mika cannot be taken with penicillin. Because penicillin inactivates the La Mika by combining the beta-lactam ring of penicillin with an amino group of this drug to form amide which is biologically inactive. For this reason La Mika should not be taken with penicillin. The chances of inactivation of this drug are higher in case of renal failure because in this case concentration of penicillin is higher in the kidney for a longer time as compared to the normal renal function.

Is La Mika nephrotoxic?

Yes, La Mika is nephrotoxic. Nephrotoxicity depends on dose and duration of therapy. Thus, nephrotoxicity is likely to occur if La Mika taken a high dose for a long time or may occur if the drug is given to a patient that already suffer from kidney problem. Nephrotoxicity associated with this drug may reduce or minimize by taking some precaution before consuming this drug like monitor kidney functions regularly and do not take it in high doses. Avoid taking La Mika with another nephrotoxic drug. If you notice any urine discoloration after taking this drug then inform your doctor immediately.

No, La Mika is not available in tablet form. It is available in only injectable dosage form either given by intramuscularly or intravenously depends on patient condition or severity of infections.
